Late For Lunch is melt-your-face rock, feel-your-deepest-feelings soul and everything in between.
All material is written and performed by Matt Deitchman (keys, guitars, vocals) and Jed Feder (drums, guitars, vocals).
Matt and Jed met at Northwestern University, where they wrote material together for the Waa-Mu Show, an annual student written revue. After graduating they collaborated on the orchestrations for HERO, a new musical produced at the Marriott Theatre-Lincolnshire which won the Jeff Award for Best New Musical, and subsequently founded Late For Lunch. Recently, Matt and Jed participated in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project, where they studied with songwriters Craig Carnelia, Jon Lind, and Lari White. They also recently performed at the National Dramatists Guild conference in Chicago as part of Having Our Say, Having Our Song. Individually, they are Chicago-based actor-musicians who have worked at numerous Chicagoland theatres including Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Marriott Theatre-Lincolnshire, Drury Lane Oakbrook, About Face Theatre, Route 66 Theatre, The Music Theatre Company, Bailiwick Chicago, Bohemian Theatre Ensemble, The House Theatre Ensemble, and Provision Theatre Company. Jed recently sound-designed the award-winning animated short film Retrocognition, directed by Eric Patrick, which won Best Sound Design at Wild Rose Film Festival and the Golden Earwax Award at Cinesonika 3. Matt recently composed the original score and theme song for the critically acclaimed hit production of She Kills Monsters (Steppenwolf Garage Rep Series). They are both proud members of the American Federation of Musicians.
Right now, Late For Lunch is in collaboration with Matt Boresi and the Music Institute of Chicago to write a new musical for high-school age performers, and they are in the process of developing their first album.
